Last Friday was Fall Down Gallery’s second Open Mic Night. This time around, the featured art was a collection of pennants from one man’s travels throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s. He explored Europe, North and South America over those years and at every stop bought a pennant- that is until they stop producing them in the 90s. The collection will be up until the end of the month, so make sure to check it out.
The upstairs of the gallery was transformed back to Hand Down Your Pants vintage clothing collection, while the downstairs stage was shedding light on some of Ottawa’s up and coming talent as well as local favourites. Multitalented artist Kaylie Seaver hit the stage, Highneken & Dudka performed an acoustic rap set and Randy Hogg, a Fall Down affiliate, covered songs from some of Canada’s new indie-alternative groups, such as Rural Alberta Advantage. We also saw Adrock Acoustic, another local artist who has been grabbing everyone’s attention. Fortunately, he will be playing his own show at Fall Down Gallery tonight with guests Condokrew, hailing from Toronto. If you like raw talent, this is not a night to miss.
Big ups to all those in attendance, these nights are sure to become a staple in Ottawa nightlife this winter.
C0verage after the jump.
